I was thrilled to spend time in

London
with my husband and precious in-laws… I love history, and I love historic buildings, I love beauty of all kinds.

I was excited about the art; I was most excited to see a place I had always heard about.
I was NOT prepared for the cultural climate!
It is true, if you cut me open I will bleed red-white-and blue, I fast and cry

over elections, and I sincerely thank all veterans when I meet them. I sob like a baby no matter how many times I see “Saving Private Ryan”, and I do feel war is a necessary evil.

I believe there are lots of flag waving, God fearing patriots of all shapes, colors and ages in this Country.
Of course you won’t see many on CNN.
And you will not experience a love for

America
while visiting

London
.
I was surprised, and I was hurt.
Intellectually I knew this war had taken the love for

America
to a new low.
I also knew that most countries feel that they are the best, and everyone else is wrong.
  I was still surprised.

I suppose there is not much I can do about

England
’s prejudice about the

USA, but I tried.

At first I tried to smile extra big at them after they had identified me as and American.
However, by the end of the trip I was fighting my own prejudices about THEM!
Interesting…I did not think I would be spiritually challenged on this trip.
  Once again, I am being stretched;

I must love those who hate me…so much easier to love those little orphans that adore you simply because you are THERE.
This, I believe is the journey that Christ guides us lovingly and patiently on.
What is He asking of us?
Is it more righteous to sell everything and move to serve the poorest of the poor, or does it not matter if we carry hatred, prejudice, or un-forgiveness in our hearts…?
He cares much more about our hearts than our address; He cares more about our hearts and the motives of our hearts than whether we are rich or poor.
He cares more for our hearts than whether we are right or justified…and He is patient and long-suffering to see us pure of heart, above all else!
