Today is Fathers Day, I am sad I cannot easily connect with my own father, who I adore, and my father in law who I am also crazy about…I did get to spend the day with my husband, enjoying the wild animals of Africa, and breathtaking scenery…I am forever grateful that my children are being raised by a real man, and
exceptional father.
He protects us physically, emotionally and spiritually.
He is in control of his family, he is our leader, and he is easy to follow.
We trust him, even if we don’t like the stretching we sometimes under go to keep up with him.
He disciplines, but he also loves deeply, and our children understand that correction is a form of love.
He is fully alive, he works hard and he knows how to play hard.
He wakes early in the morning to read scripture and pray with his children.
He talks to them and listens to their hearts.
They know that what they feel is valid, and that their Daddy cares about what they care about.
He is strong, he is capable, and so they always feel safe.
He sets the bar high for them, and catches them when they fall.
He is not afraid to show emotions, and the occasional tear, nor is he afraid to be silly with his kids.
Gary Black is a picture of a true father.
My children are fortuneate to have an earthly father that models our Heavenly Father, but sadly this is very rare…
Today, I would like to urge the Fathers that have dropped their responsibility’s to their families to turn before more damage is done.
Today, I would like to honor the men, that have fought the good fight and been faithful and true to what God had called them to do.
Not only their biological children, but thousands of spiritual children that they have loved and fathered. It is not easy, but it is worth it….and your reward is great!
Thank you, William Orley, Dwayne Black, Seth Barnes, Tom Davis, Brett Irwin, Andrew Sherman, Tim Johns, Danny Seay and many more that are faithful and true…
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all,
and my forever grateful and full heart of love and appreciation to Gary Black for being the father of my children, and the love of my life!
Lisa, that was beautiful. Dad and I are very proud of Gary, also. Good job well done, son. Love Mom and Dad
Wow, Lisa…what a reminder of what is important! Fathers Day is such a great day for me…it reminds me of my Father in heaven, who sovereignly touched me so many years ago and implanted in me, as he has in Gary, the Fathers heart, and the message of Malachi 4:5/6. We miss you…and love you, so much! God bless you as you lead and love –
Danny
