Greetings from the
BlackTribe!

Welcome to our update for September 2007. Now in our fifth month
living in Africa, the presence of God is
great, the favor with the local businessmen is amazing, and the family is coming
into the reality of life on the field. Here’s a quick overview of what God is
doing so far and how we get to ‘be’ the will of God in
Africa. For consistent updates checkout the blogs listed
above.

Nsoko

The Nsoko project is our dream for
Africa; it is in one of the most
impoverished areas in
Swaziland. We’ve
been given 100 acres of land from local Swazi businessmen; much of the funds
will be coming from within the country.

It will be a community full of love,
homes for the orphans, projects to teach them to build a business and provide
for their families, and it’s in full swing. We will be breaking ground this
month, building the community center, a guest house, and moving a few hundred
vulnerable children most of them ‘double orphans’ to this new location.

Gardens,
café and other sustainability projects will be coming soon after. We will still
need help from our foreign friends to help make all of this come true, you can
give on our blogs – on the left under the links section click on ‘Support Nsoko
Project’. Much more on this soon, including a video…

Treasure
Chest

Lisa is currently working on a new
project – she is helping the children at the Care Points create a treasure
chest, decorating the outside to help them express their culture and their life
story. The inside will hold a mirror and a Bible – showing who they really are,
and any special treasure they have or that we give them.

Training
Initiative

The leadership school has gained
some major momentum! It looks like we have been given offices, sleeping
accommodations, dining hall and huge training center with access to sports
facilities etc… through a partnership with an African business college, IDM
(Institute of Development management) www.idmbls.com we will start bringing in
international students and Africans for intense leadership training,
discipleship, and empowering the next generation to take Africa and the World
for Christ. We will kick off in January. They just built brand-new facilities fully funded by the
government and the “Kellogg foundation” and are very excited with our vision to
empower the next generation and bring in leaders from
America to impart to their
students…

Kids

Alexis is part of a high school
abstinence outreach and leading and discipling high school girls.
Tyler is doing a Bible
study with his rugby team and visiting the hospitals often. Emily is working
with the preschool program for vulnerable children, teaching basic spiritual
concepts to the orphans. Michael’s passion is the hospital outreach, and goes
two to three times a week. Caleb has his own soccer ministry with the orphans.
And Noah is Caleb’s assistant coach, and is excited about working with the
orphans and having his own whistle!

Being that it is
the end of the financial year for Adventures In Missions, we need to make up
$12,000 by the end of September. We’ve made it very simple to give; you can go
onto our blog and click on the ‘Support Me’ link on the left.

Or you can make a
check out to ‘AIM’ & put in the subject line ‘Gary Black – Swaziland’, and
mail to 6000 Wellspring Trail, Gainesville, GA 30506 (attn: Gary Black). This
would be above and beyond your normal monthly support. We know that God is
faithful to provide, but we also know that He uses people to do it. Thank you
for your continued support.
