Seth Barnes…For sitting back with no ego and a huge heart and making thousands of us so much greater than we would ever be without you.
  You are the un-sung
hero of an entire generation…thank you for believing, and not giving up…

Tom Davis…for inspiring and blowing us away with your written words, and bringing the party, making us laugh, giving us hope, introducing the finest wines, being the finest brother, for understanding my husband, for loving that wild guy so much…

Brett Irwin….for always staying steady, listening, believing, serving,
coming alive with us…not to mention protecting our country and raising such fine boys…you are a stud!

Jerry M…for hearing and obeying the whisper of the Father, for finding widows and orphans in the cereal isle and pulling them out of the pit…

Rod Baltes…for loving my sister, for being a kind and generous friend and father,

I am proud to call you “brother”…

Tyler, Michael, Caleb and Noah Black…for stepping-up as men when your dad is gone, for living your lives in way that not only pleases your dad and I, but you’re heavenly Father as well.
Michael for playing with my hair and always supporting
UofM, and telling me I look pretty!

Tyler
for protecting us, locking doors, starting and heating up my car, and giving any man who looks at me the “don’t even think about it” stare down.
Caleb, for still kissing me good-night, for devouring homemade meals and appreciating them all, and telling me every detail of your day.
Noah, for making me LOVE being a mother to another little boy, all over again…you are my joy!
  You four men
have filled my life and my days with adventure and mystery, I have laughed harder, prayed more, lived bigger because of you. Your hugs, smiles, and stories make all the rest of life SO worth it…I pray for your future wives everyday…They will be truly blessed!  I love that you are tender-warriors, today and everyday…

All these men are broken for God, kind to the least of these, and more than able and ready to pick up a sword and fight for family, country and TRUTH…they are REAL MEN!

Watch these men, do what they do, and you will continue to be great…!

  1. thankyou lisa for the kind words of encouragement. you and gary were a blessing when you came to stay with us. gary is a lucky man to have you. you are welcome to come stay with us anytime. god bless rod

  2. Thank you my sister for the kind words; they mean a lot. Truth is you’re the stud – holding down the fort while Gary’s away – homeschooling, carpooling, mommy’ing, daddy’ing, nursing (although that didn’t go so well), blogging… you’re amazing! Keep up the great work.
    I said boots!

  3. You have a way of reaching over, pealing an onion of a man, getting to the core, and investing words in a way that a man wants to be who you see him as…and then is inpired to be even more…you always treat me as I am capable of becoming…and for that, I love you even more…keep looking up and listening for the shout…
